Trip to York

Hi Everyone,
Here are some pictures of our trip up to York this weekend. Enjoy!

Katherine all cuddly warm in her stroller.

"Vikings" getting ready for the battle re-enactment at the Jorvik Viking Festival.

Enthusiasts in their chainmail.

Who knew they had Diet Coke way back then?

On to Woodhouse Farm bed and breakfast.

It's a real working farm, complete with chickens and such...

Very cozy.

The next day we visited Kirkham Priory. This was established in about 1100 AD.

Next stop was Castle Howard. This is where they filmed Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties. Isabella had a blast.

Look at the date on this time capsule. To be opened in 3982. That's 2000 years from now!

On to Wharram Percy medieval village ruins. See Mark carrying Katherine--she was a pretty heavy 14 pounds by the time we got back to the car. It was a very muddy walk down to the village. Luckily, a good scrubbing salvaged Isabella's shoes.

After walking a mile and a half in the mud, we get to the ruins of the church. Isabella was more excited about the snail you see her holding in her hand.

And that's it, folks!

That's so cool! I love the picture of Mark and Isabella walking in the dewey grass from far away.
